Membership Information
As a member, you are welcome to participate in as much or as little
curling as you choose. Curling activities occur seven days a week from
early October through March. There are leagues to accommodate everyone's
skill levels and abilities:
MEN'S
The LCC has men's curling scheduled Monday through Thursday in the evenings,
and Sunday mornings. Members are welcome to enter as a single, or with
a full team. If you enter as a single, we'll place you on a team. Men
are also welcome to join any league's spares list - spares are always
in great demand. For Mondays, a flight system ensures that everyone
competes at an appropriate competitive level, and playoffs occur annually
in March to determine the league champions.
OPEN
The President's League on Wednesday evenings is an Open League and welcomes
men's, women's, and mixed teams. Once again, members are welcome to
enter as a single, or with a full team. If you enter as a single, we'll
place you on a team. The league has two flights and the preliminary
round held in the first half of the season serves to seed teams in the
flights for the competition round.
DAYTIME MEN'S
A keen group of senior men enjoy social curling every weekday. Teams
are made up the day of the game based on who wants to play. No need
to find spares when unable to attend. Many of the participants enjoy
competing against teams from other local clubs on a regular basis. The
more the merrier they say!
DAYTIME MEN'S COMPETITIVE
For those men who can curl during the day on Monday and/or Thursday
afternoons, a competitive league is available. Team and individual entries
are accepted.
DAYTIME WOMEN
Women's curling is scheduled on Tuesday afternoon and Thursday and Friday
mornings. A variety of leagues accommodates every level of curler, and
all are welcome to participate in the many special events put on by
the Women's section.
BUSINESS WOMEN
LCC offers Women's curling on Thursday evenings. The Thursday league
is more competitive; team and individual entries are welcome, and a
flight system is used to accommodate all skill levels for the playoffs.
MIXED
In addition to the “Open” curling on Wednesday evenings, mixed curling
leagues are scheduled on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday evenings. Sunday
and Tuesday evenings are social, individual entry leagues. The 2-draw
Friday mixed is more competitive, but still a very social group. Teams
rotate through a schedule of games at 5:30 and 7:45. A flight system
ensures that teams are evenly matched. The league accepts entries from
teams, couples, and individuals.
LEARN TO CURL
This fun Tuesday night league is open to every type of curler. Individual
entries are accepted. The more experienced curler will be curling with
the newer curler.
ELEMENTARY AGE CURLING
Little Rocks is an innovation that allows youngsters aged 6 to 12 to
curl. The rocks are half the size and weight of regular curling rocks.
Little Rockers are supported by adult instruction on Sunday afternoons
and the emphasis is completely on fun.
JUNIOR CURLING
High school students who wish to learn and graduate from Elementary
Age Curling are urged to join this group on Sunday afternoon.
STUDENTS
Special reduced rates are available for full time post-secondary, secondary
and elementary students
SOCIAL MEMBERS
Social members have full access to club facilities. They are welcome
to curl in club bonspiels.
CLINICS
If you have never curled before, or even if you have, attending LCC's
Instructional Clinics is a great way to develop your curling skills.
The LCC has qualified instructors to provide instruction for those who
are interested.
